Judging experience – Contract Catering Awards

At Lolly, we live and breathe contract catering – working with contract caterers to ensure they give their customers the best and most frictionless hospitality technology experience possible. And today, we’re proud to work and collaborate with some of the UK’s most successful food service businesses.

So when we were approached to sponsor the Contract Catering Awards 2024 with H2O Publishing, we jumped at the opportunity – keen to align ourselves with such a prestigious brand and event.

This sponsorship also gave me the opportunity to co-judge the plethora of awe-inspiring award entries.

I thoroughly enjoyed poring through the entries and reading at first-hand the many opportunities and challenges the sector faces. Also, gaining an understanding of how many of these contract caterers are overcoming these difficulties.

As we’d expect, these challenges encompass areas including sustainability, the food choices consumers make from allergens to carbon offsetting and working towards digitalisation/digital transformation. These are all areas close to our hearts at Lolly, and we’re continually evolving to come up with solutions to help drive change.

The whole experience has been fascinating, with the main highlight being the opportunity to meet with the other judges to discuss our feedback on the entries. The same sentiment resonated – the quality of the entries was extremely high, and it was hugely difficult to arrive at the final winners’ decisions.

I’m very much looking forward to the awards ceremony on March 18th and celebrating some of the milestones and successes achieved by the 2024 cohort. The competition is undoubtedly stiff!
