Fergus the LollyBot Makes Debut at Big Hospitality Expo 2022

Lolly, the hospitality technology specialist, is proud to present Fergus, the robot waiter, at the Big Hospitality Expo in London. The culmination of many months of dedicated development, Fergus has been meticulously engineered to support fast-paced hospitality environments, specifically by assisting busy waiting staff. The robot waiter is equipped with advanced features, including omni-directional obstacle sensing and simultaneous localisation and mapping (SLAM) technology, allowing it to navigate seamlessly through crowded spaces, deliver food from the kitchen to tables, and interact with customers.

Restaurant Robot Waiter

Fergus is not merely a waiter; it's a versatile assistant capable of clearing tables as well, which frees up human staff to focus on delivering a more enhanced and personal dining experience. The robot's high positioning accuracy and automatic speed adjustment ensure a smooth and efficient operation. When not in use, Fergus automatically returns to its docking station, recharging its battery in approximately three to four hours for another full evening of service.

Peter Moore, CEO at Lolly, highlights the compelling commercial viability of investing in these LollyBots. Moore states,"Fergus won’t ask for time off, will always show up for work and will do whatever you ask him to!" He emphasises Lolly's dedication to innovation, making state-of-the-art technology accessible, simple, and highly agile for businesses of all sizes.

The launch of Fergus is a strategic solution to support busy waiting staff, particularly during the challenging landscape of staff recruitment and retention. Moore believes that the increasing integration of technology, including AI and machine learning, signals that robots working in restaurants are a permanent fixture in the future of the foodservice industry. The LollyBot also offers continuous software updates and full technical support, ensuring uninterrupted operation.

To make this technology accessible, the LollyBot isavailable for a one-off purchase or through a flexible monthly lease scheme. The leasing option, which includes maintenance and support from Lolly, provides an ideal financing solution for managing cash flow, with prices beginning from around £750 per month over a three-year term. The robot also integrates with amanagement dashboard and reporting system, providing valuable insights for businesses.
