“One of the best business decisions we ever made”
Stanhope Festival - Creating unforgettable experiences
Stanhope Weekender is a live music event in the heart of Stanhope, Weardale. Committed to creating unforgettable experiences, the Stanhope Weekender family ensure that the Weekender is a memorable and affordable occasion for families across the nation.
The festival delivers a host of amenities, from bars to an assortment of street food vendors, including an amazing line-up.
Lolly’s unwavering support at Stanhope
The team at Stanhope initially found out about Lolly via their website and saw some of the great work the company has done for other UK festivals.
Lewis Maddison (Co-founder of Stanhope Festival), made contact, keen to try and make the bar operation run more smoothly than in previous years. He comments: “I've been organising outdoor events, mainly music festivals and country shows, in the Northeast of England for a long time. Over the years, I've been involved in numerous events and have learned from various mistakes made along the way. One such mistake was using a combination of standalone card machines and a common 'off the shelf' EPoS system.”
“I used to view EPoS equipment as an expense rather than an investment. However, earlier this year, we decided to opt for a custom-built and managed EPoS system, which is when we came across Lolly,” says Lewis.
Lolly supplied AURES PoS devices and Muira integrated card terminals, along with printers and cashdrawers - all on an event hire option for Stanhope.
Throughout the duration of the event, Dan (valued member of the Lolly Support Team), remained on-site to provide any help and support if needed.
Lewis adds: “With Dan's assistance, we also set up a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) and two redundant internet supplies (4G and SpaceX StarLink). Thanks to Lolly's expertise, our bar continued to run smoothly even when we faced power outages.”
“One of our best business decisions"
“I can genuinely say that this was one of the best business decisions we ever made. At a music festival with over 3,000 attendees, our bar operated with exceptional efficiency, and there were never any queues. The system that Lolly developed for us was incredibly streamlined and significantly reduced the workload for our bar staff,” comments Lewis.
Paul Markey (Business Development Manager at Lolly) adds: “The event from Lolly’s point of view was a great success. The Stanhope Festival team were really keen to introduce a smart, effective PoS solution that simplified and improved their bar operation. They welcomed not only our integrated solution with back-office support, but also our past experience helping customers to run similar events.”
The future of Stanhope Festival
Stanhope is now in discussions with Lolly on the support they will provide at next year’s event, as well as any additional support they may require for similar events in the future.
Lewis adds: “I now consider the entire Lolly team as vital and trusted partners for my business. I can't imagine running a festival without their support.”
