Lolly Launches Bitcoin Payment Functionality

Hospitality Technology Specialist Produces Another Industry First - Teams Up with CoinCorner to Offer Bitcoin Payments

Lolly, the hospitality software house, is proud to announce the launch of its cryptocurrency payment functionality. Another sector first, the LollyPoS platform will enable hospitality providers to take Bitcoin for food and drinks. The company has teamed up with CoinCorner to offer this functionality across all Lolly tills and kiosks, adding Bitcoin payments alongside traditional cash and card methods.

Customers selecting Bitcoin payments download the app, which displays their Bitcoin value. They select to make this type of payment and the till user presses the Coin Corner payment button. This then puts a QR code on the rear display for the customer to scan and make the payment using the Lightning Network – with transactions typically completing in around 0.25 seconds.

Peter Moore, CEO at Lolly, said: “We’re always looking ahead, and we’re excited to be debuting Bitcoin payments in our sector. With super-fast transaction speeds, and the hospitality provider seeing transactions in pounds sterling, these types of payment pose no risk to them – so it’s a win-win. It’s great to be working alongside CoinCorner, a trusted brand in this space. And we share their vision that this represents the future for payments. We’re delighted to be supporting our own clients in being part of this.”

Danny Scott, CEO at CoinCorner, added: “We’re excited to be partnering with Lolly to bring Bitcoin payments to more businesses. For a long time, the idea of paying with bitcoin seemed alien to both businesses and individuals, but with the seamless incorporation of CoinCorner Checkout into Lolly’s integrated payments technology, the user experience is both frictionless and familiar to everyone.”
